Praying for Father Abraham’s Children
spacebar

Fred Thompson is an actor, former Senator from Tennessee, and rumored to be a possible Republican Presidential candidate. In a recent blog he asked some pointed, hypothetical questions: “What do you think America would do if Canadian soldiers were firing dozens of missiles every day into Buffalo, N.Y.? What do you think our response would be if Mexican troops for two years had launched daily rocket attacks on San Diego -- and bragged about it?”

His hypothetical questions relate to a real-world situation in the Middle-East, where more than 1,300 rockets have been fired into Israel from Gaza since Palestinians were given control two years ago. The Palestinian strategy is to purposely target and kill Israeli civilians and replace Israel with an Islamic state. Then, when Israel goes after those launching the attacks, Palestinians claim to be the victims.

We are instructed to “pray for the peace of Jerusalem,” where both branches of Father Abraham’s children struggle to live together.

"…Sing to the Lord, praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day.
Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.” Psalm 96:2,3 NIV

“May mercy and peace and love be multiplied to you.” Jude 2 NASB
