A National Disgrace
spacebar

Summer months are traditional times for weddings. Brides and grooms are walking down church aisles and garden paths and reciting mutual vows to keep “until death do us part.”

However, those who argue in favor of legalizing same-sex marriages point out traditional marriages are not upholding the standards and merits of marriage for which we argue. Our national divorce rate--between 35 and 45 percent of all marriages—is a national disgrace.

The tragedy of divorce is also pointed out, by Islamic fundamentalists, as reflecting massive immorality in our own culture and country.

Traditional marriage of one man and one woman, committed to each other for a lifetime, has been undermined by the legal revolution called "no fault divorce." The resolve to remain married is often dissolved by selfishly demanded “rights.”

A nation that tolerates the breakup of marriage at these rates has little credibility when it then seeks to protect it. God help us!

"…Sing to the Lord, praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day.
Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.” Psalm 96:2,3 NIV

“May mercy and peace and love be multiplied to you.” Jude 2 NASB
