Triple-X Porn on Local Cable?

Adelphia Cable systems now provides extreme and explicit, triple-X pornography on Pay-TV in their Southern California market. (1) Formerly a “conservative” cable provider, Adelphia once removed the Spice channel because it was considered too racy for their viewers. But now they have joined other cable providers who put profit ahead of principle.

With most of the world’s pornography produced in Adelphia’s Los Angeles franchise areas, it may not be surprising to see them shirk their corporate responsibility and replace it with a policy of supposedly providing “what the public wants.” This careless “buyer beware” policy of Adelphia, Time Warner, and other cable providers fails to consider pornography’s harm to individuals, families and the community as a whole. Let your cable provider know of your disappointment in their decision to offer raunchy pornography. Then voice your concern to your city council members, city attorney and our new federal Attorney General, Alberto Gonzales. (3)

1. According to Christian Communication Network, the pornographic fare offered by Adelphia as triple-X is the most extreme and explicit variety currently available anywhere on cable TV. But cable companies and the porn industry are bearing no responsibility for continuing to push pornography on unsuspecting consumers. In fact, they claim they are only providing a service that people are more than willing to pay for. And they assert that with current legal regulations, pay-TV such as cable and satellite programming is a legitimate venue to distribute their productions.
